A secondary school open house is the one day a school opens its classrooms, labs and CCA spaces to Primary 6 families. In Singapore most schools hold it in November, after the PSLE written papers and before Secondary 1 options are submitted, with a smaller early wave in April–May led by Integrated Programme and specialised schools. The table above lists every 2026 date we track, with each school's PSLE cut-off point beside it so you can see at a glance whether a school is a realistic choice.

How to use the open house table

• Dates are sorted upcoming first. Schools that have already held their 2026 open house are marked “held” and sit at the bottom.
• Use the search box and Area filter. Type a school name, or pick your area to see only nearby schools.
• The cut-off column is a guide, not a promise. It is the school's lowest open PSLE cut-off point in the latest posting exercise; a lower AL is more competitive.
• “—” in the cut-off column usually means a specialised or independent school (such as NUS High or SOTA) that admits through its own process, not PSLE posting.

What to look for at a secondary school open house

Brochures look alike; the visit is where schools differ. Use the day to check what you cannot read online:

• Posting groups and subject banding. Ask how Full Subject-Based Banding works in practice — how many subjects can be taken at a more demanding level, and how often students move up.
• CCAs. Which CCAs are strong, how often they train, and whether a DSA place is tied to one.
• Distance and the daily commute. Time the journey from home on the day; a long commute adds up over four or five years.
• Support for weaker subjects. Ask about remedial lessons and how the school helps a student who is behind in Mathematics or Science.
• Culture. Talk to current students, not only teachers — they will tell you about workload, discipline and what a normal week feels like.

Open house dates and the Secondary 1 posting timeline

Open houses sit between two fixed points: the PSLE results, which tell you your child's Achievement Level (AL) score, and the deadline to submit the six school choices. Visiting in November lets you match your shortlist to the actual score. Compare each school's PSLE cut-off point with your child's expected AL and keep a mix of ambitious, realistic and safe choices.

How to plan your open house visits

Shortlist six to eight schools from the cut-off table, then use this calendar to visit as many as you can over the two busiest Saturdays. Write down one thing you liked and one concern after each visit while it is fresh, and rank your six choices only after the PSLE results are out.
